Great Place,
We had a wonderful time. The home is completely furnished. All you need to bring with you is your own personal items, food and a willingness to leave stress behind (we put ours in the car trunk as soon as we arrived).

We had a great stay. Very well equipped kitchen!! Master bed very comfortable. Enjoyed the mountain bikes and the grandkids loved playing pool and ping pong at the club house.

Beautiful house!
We just had a great weekend with our family. Our 2 young boys loved playing at the beach and we loved relaxing in the evenings in the quiet of the surroundings. We had family visit us one day and they all remarked how beautiful the house was and how everything provided (ie-pots, pans, towels) were of such nice quality. We had a truly relaxing time and got to enjoy some wonderful family moments together.

My family and I rented the cabin for a wonderful week. My two boys (ages 2 and 4) loved the beach, pool and wildlife. They had plenty of room to play and plenty of things to play with which the cabin provided. The cabin itself was well stocked with amenities and very very comfortable. It was nice to be able to relax in such a beautiful place. I would highly recommend renting this cabin to get away from it all! Thanks again Harry!
Quiet and Relaxing
We had a wonderful time at our rental home. We had no problems whatsoever. Everything was clean and directions made it easy to find. Very private and nice family room, we played cards while the kids watched movies on the big screen. We will definitely plan another trip there.
A weekend just wasn’t enough!
Just spent a terrific weekend 4/4 – 4/6 at this wonderful place. Unfortunately a weekend just wasn’t enough! We actually lucked out, considering the time of year, and had beautiful weather. The setting of this intimate community is gorgeous, and has plenty to offer. Beach, forest, trails & wildlife. The house and all it’s amenites, was fantastic! Hope to return sometime this summer for a full week! Much thanks to the Barman’s for sharing this wonderful place.

I wish there were more stars than 5. I also wish we had more time to stay. This is by far the best kept, best stocked home. The pictures don’t do it justice. The communities/ammenities were great. There were over 4 different beach areas to choose from, all very well maintained. This doesnt feel like a rental, it feels like you are staying at a friends house. When we drove through the gate it felt as if we were in a different state all together. The houses are built around the forest and island. Nature is all around you. We saw deer, racoons, squirells and every kind of bird imaginable. The house is beautiful, all the needed amenities, and plenty of space. We had 4 adults and 6 kids and had more than enough room. Harry really went all out on this “Home”. Thank you Harry so very much for this great expericence, we will see you again in the summer!Recommended for: Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
Annual Summer Trip for 18 years…
My family has made an annual summer trip for 18 years and this trip was by far and away the best yet. The home was wonderful and very comfortable. The absence of a TV signal was a blessing. The entire stay was extremely relaxing and I highly recommend this home to anyone wanting to just get away for refreshing vacation. Everyone we met in the community was very friendly and made us feel at home. My only regret is that one week was not long enough. I will try and rectify that shortfall next year. Thanks again Harry.
Family vacationer,
The pictures on the website do not do this property justice. This cabin truly looks like it was decorated to be included in the pages of a pottery barn catalogue. It was spacious, well appointed, clean and more than well considered. The kids in our group fully enjoyed the three televisions, electronic keyboard and movie library. Although with beaches to comb, nature trails to walk, ping pong to play, bikes to ride and swimming to be had, the indoor activities were merely an afterthought. If you want your kids to unplug, there isn’t a better location. The adults enjoyed the quiet surroundings, which occasionally included a visit from the local wildlife, and the well appointed book library. What a treat. We will be back.
Harstine Island R & R
We spent a week at Barmon’s beautiful home in early August and could not have been more pleased with our stay. The home is beautiful and filled with everything needed to make your stay comfortable and interesting. We enjoyed the bikes, the flashlights, the field glasses and want to use of the raft next time we visit. We started our mornings by the living room fire reading our books and looking out the picture windows at the forest, spent our afternoons on the beach at the Pointe and our nights watching the meteorite showers, the Milky Way and the bioluminescence in the water. We have been coming to Harstine Island with our family for vacation for twenty-four years and feel we have found our favorite place to stay. Every year we go to the Saturday Farmers Market at the community hall for pies, sweet rolls and produce all from the island and visit our favorite island pottery artist on Sunday afternoon. This home was exceptionally hospitable and we will definitely be back.
Perfect home for our group meeting!
This home was perfect for our annual staff retreat. The kitchen had everything our cooks needed; the rooms were clean, bright and sunny with beautiful furniture and comfortable beds. The dining room table expanded to accommodate our planning sessions and the deck tables and chairs made for relaxing space to meet outside in the afternoon sun. The garage was filled with bikes, tennis rackets/balls, and all manner of fun gear for our playtime events. Simply put – it couldn’t have been a better choice for our agency planning sessions and our free time activities. We’ll be back next year! We gave it an EXCELLENT rating for our 5 day stay.
Camping at the Hilton
We normally do a family campout every summer. This year was a little different, we couldn’t find a campground, motel or cabin in the area we wanted to go. I was really lucky to find this home at a really late notice. Everyone was satified. It was in the woods with lots of nature all around us. We had deer looking in those big windows every morning. The kids were busy all week with bike riding, swimming, tennis, ping pong and lots of games and movies. The house was roomy, clean and very well stocked. I just hope we can go again, sure beats sleeping in a tent.
We thoroughly enjoyed the setting and coziness of the home and surrounding area. However we think it was not a great fit for a family with very little children. (1-3) We also had two other grandkids for two days (3-6). We also did not fully understand the distance from the island to outside activities or shopping. It is a place we may truly want to try when we want a getaway alone or with family when the children are much older. Thank yo so much for sharing your amazing home.
Thanks for loaning us your beautiful home for the week! It was the perfect place for our family to spend some time together. We went on walks, bike rides, and down to the beach daily
Great place for our family!
The home was large enough to accomodate our family. We were in the area for a family wedding in Shelton. We were able to walk down to the beach/water, enjoy the pool at the clubhouse with our kids, bbq food on the deck. Very clean, everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The owners were available to answer any questions. Harry was very good at answering or retuning phone calls or emails during the renting process and during our stay if needed. The island location is beautiful.The only reason I did not give 5 stars is for 3 small reasons and 2 of them are not the owners fault. 1; there is a low profile electrical box that is located at the end of the driveway…I hit it with the fender of my rental car…not the ideal spot for such a utility; again Harry was very understanding and helpful. 2; The contact lady for the HOA or POA of the island just was not very friendly (not sure of the right word) with us…just seemed kind of annoyed with having renters on the island. We only had to deal with her for a total 5-10 minutes for the trip. 3; Initially getting into the community could be a little easier, if security or contact lady is not readily available you are sitting and waiting for the code to get in through the gate and possibly in the way of others getting into the community.
We do recommend this property, great house! Really nice owners!
A gem in the wonderful island
This was a delightful getaway in a secluded community that met all our needs.
The house had all the amenities of a normal residence and extras such as many bikes and entertainment room upstairs were definitely a bonus.

Great family vacation
This is a great property for an ideal family vacation. Its located in a gated community with all facilities including swimming pool and tennis courts, biking trails and beaches. The house itself is fully equipped with kitchen appliances and utensils, washer-dryer, books, games, even bikes. We had a great stay and would love to come again!

Spacious well-furnished island home with easy access to the South Sound
The Barmon home was an excellent match for our weekend retreat group. The home is built and furnished to a high standard, well equipped and supplied, and clean and fresh. It is a wooded setting with easy beach access. Harstene Island has the charm of islands in the Sound, without the hassle of ferries or boats. And it is within easy reach of Tacoma and other Suth Sound centers. Harry’s communications were timely and responsive, and the arrangements worked well. We hope to return.
